I graduated from 2nd Lyceum of Nea Smyrni with excellent (1983). I studied at the Athens Medical School, where I graduated with honors in June 1989. During my military service, I specialized in the field of hyperbaric medicine and decompression chambers. I spent my specialization in Pathology. Specialization in Cardiology. Postgraduate studies.

I specialized in cardiology at Tzaneio Hospital of Piraeus and after successful examinations I received the title of specialty with my first attempt in 1997. I did postgraduate studies in the subject of “Health Unit Management”. I have always been interested in issues of organization and administration in the health care sector, besides the narrow medical issues. In the practice of my specialty, I was always worried about the heavily suffering cardiologist and cardiac surgeon. That’s why I undertook a doctoral dissertation at the University of Athens on urgent angioplasty in acute myocardial infarction.

I worked for the last 21 years at the Intensive Care Unit of the Athens Medical Center in Maroussi, as a curator and director. During this time I collaborated with cardiac and cardiac-surgery clinics. My experience in the ICU gave me the opportunity to get in touch with all the serious medical problems, not just the cardiological ones, and to get acquainted with all the modern interventions for the severely ill patients. At the same time, I was scientifically responsible for the Emergency and Cardiology Unit of the same hospital.
At the same time I was involved in the practice of clinical cardiology in the private sector.
Another subject of my interest was the teaching of medicine to young people. I finished with excellent ASPAITE (Higher School of Pedagogical Technical Education). Over the last 21 years I have been teaching medical courses in various specialties in Technical Education.

Scientific collaborations

I work scientifically with major private hospitals such as “YGEIA”  and “Kentriki Kliniki” and large puplic hospitals.

Specialization in Cardiac Diseases

My particular interest was coronary heart disease, from simple angina to infarction, angioplasty and bypass. Also, arrhythmias, high blood pressure  and the treatment of lipid disorder (cholesterol, triglycerides) of the body.

Medical and Bioethics

At the same time, because I was also concerned with morality in the practice of medicine, I received with excellent my degree in Theology from the University of Athens and I completed my postgraduate studies in Bioethics with excellent also. The fruit of my study and of dealing with bioethical issues is my book “20 Years in the Intensive Care Unit”, published in 2017.

Cardiology Office in Maroussi

I keep a private cardiology Office. I deal with the whole range of cardiac problems with the help of modern cardiology machines. But most importantly, with my experience of Intensive Care for so many years, I have come to the conclusion that the most important thing is to treat man as a psychosomatic unit and his health problems globally.
My Office is in a quiet area in Maroussi, behind Health Center. In this hospitable place, we can discuss with ease and give directions and solutions to issues that concern the cardiologist or anyone who wants to take appropriate preventive measures not to become a cardiac patient.
